Met Gala 2018 - Hillbilly is bored

I am slightly disappointed at this years MetGala2018. There were a few interesting dresses, a few beautiful ones, but a lot of them were well… The theme of the ball was so interesting, spanning over the centuries, so I expected more imagination. I expected that designers would reach into rich art heritage of  catholic church and come out with interpretations that are new, fresh, and innovative. Where were peacocks - symbol of eternal life; glorious chance to use rich colors and precious stones; fish, pelicans, acanthus,…etc. Anyone ever seen a Baroque altar? This the statue in a small village church somewhere where no one ever heard of. It was carved out of wood by local, 17. century woodcarvers who never been anywhere, never seen a big opulent court dresses yet they seemed to posses incredible imagination. Although I have to say there is no doubt there were many “Heavenly Bodies” in Met Gala 2018 attendance but aren’t they always?

Rihanna: if the theme of this gala would be cooking she would wear a pot on her head - that is how imaginative her head cover is

Bella Hadid: neckless with a cross? Really? Super boring.

Katy Perry: Ever seen a Victoria Secret Fashion show?

Gigi Hadid: a hint of a peacock, fits well, nice makeup and hear-do. Like

Lily Collins: I don’t know who she is but at least a good try although I would not call it lovely

Donatella Versace: The belt… something with the belt… don’t like it

Madonna: What’s up with the skirt? Looks like they made it for someone quite a few sizes bigger.

Miley Cyrus: Necklaces’ with crosses? Again? Black dress? Is that it?

Kim Kardashian: and again… told you… boring

Jeremy Scott and Cardi B: don’t know them but these two look interesting…is he a Bullfighter?

Sarah Jessica Parker: to much, to literally, although very SJP, not bored

Jennifer Connelly: I feel she is going to cut my head off. Why?

Zendaya: Crusader. Interesting.

Stella Maxwell: again to much, feel sorry for whoever had to do the stitching and beading

Salma Hayek: Garden of St. Francis? I don't think they had parrots in Assisi. Garden of Eden? Where is Adam?

Ruby Rose: Now this is what I would picture an interesting interpretation of something catholic. Not liking red on red but still

Blake Lively: simply magnificent, best of the ball

Solange: Saint meets Cobra meets Anakin Skywalker

Alessandro Michele, Lana Del Rey and Jared Leto: Carnival
